The holidays can be so different in nature to any other time of the year when it comes to marketing. Other times throughout the year, it is normal to for any attractive marketing to bring in customers. 

For example, if you own an HVAC company and advertise “free quotes and consultations” on your vans, website, and all over the city, then you will find yourself getting business.

People like the sound of “free,” but during the holidays people become more and more picky as about to whom they give their business to. Whether it is because they want to save or have a more stringent moral compass around this time of the year is irrelevant.
